Welcome to Global History!
This course may be used to satisfy the global studies requirement for the successful completion of the high school program. This course focuses on the history and events that occurred during the second half of the 20th century (post WWII) to the beginning of the 21st century (current day). It explores the major events of the past and how it affects the present and the future guided by the fundamental themes and skills of the historian. Students will be expected to understand the interdependence of nations to consider global conditions and global issues, and to understand how our world arrived at its current state.
The following units will be studied in this course: a) The
Global Historian, b) The Dynamics of Geo-Political Power, c)
The Challenge of Economic Disparity, d) The Pursuit of Justice,
e) Social Change, and f) The Future Planet.
